Changelog

All notable changes to Tinfoil are documented here (Keep a Changelog, semver).

[Unreleased]

Fixed

  • Textures that didn't wrap: the _lines friezes run on across blocks, pillar sides are seamless when stacked, chiseled Tunguska/Tartarian glyphs sit inside their frame, tarmac shows its runway marks on top only (slabs too).
  • Decor faces that showed a cut-off frame: weather balloon crate (own side and lid), specimen tank glass, gantry support beam, monolith terminal and star map tablet (natural stone). The saucer parasol fits its inventory slot.
  • New tools/art/wrap-check.mjs (in CI) catches both.

[1.0.0] - 2026-11-03

Added

  • Founders' colossi: /tinfoil statue place <player> [state] [pose] [scheme] [scale] builds a giant voxel statue of a player from their skin (pristine or ruined; standing, skyward, summoning; three material schemes). [statues] config with the default player list of the Schnopzo-Bashi server.
  • Relic cache block and relic artifact item: keep unmappable block entities and items from the old world, with their original id and NBT; breaking a cache upgrades its items with Minecraft's data fixers. /tinfoil relic inspect|list.
  • /tinfoil scan [chunkRadius] compares imported chunks with the porter's expected.json (lost blocks, relic caches, artifacts in containers) and writes a report; /tinfoil diagnose shows versions, config and remapper state.
  • Built-in legacy id remapper: the porter's mapping tables become registry aliases, so old block/item/block-entity/entity ids resolve to their replacements instead of air. ATM10 + Tinfoil need no other remapping mod.
  • 131 replacement building blocks in 14 families (Atlantean Marble, Bermuda Stone, Megalith Limestone, Pyramid Sandstone, Tunguska Brick, Tartarian Brick, Ley Tiles, Herringbone, Polygonal Masonry, Ancient Shingles, Crop-Circle Mosaic, Hangar Alloy, Gantry, Crop Thatch) with stonecutter families, tags and loot.
  • 34 decor pieces: bunker and temple furniture, out-of-place artifacts, ley lights, effigies and cryptids, a maglev track and dormant devices.
  • Ruin and anomaly pieces (fallen columns, wall fragments, monoliths, moai heads, stone spheres, saucer wrecks, antenna masts, bunker hatches, crop circles, geoglyphs) with data-driven schemes and patterns; /tinfoil ruin place; layered Rubble block.
  • /tinfoil fold: folds (terraced plateaus/basins with megalith strata), waterfalls with plunge pools and mist, overgrowth (vines, Signal Moss, glow lichen, moss, azaleas) and ruins around imported bases; preview and undo. New blocks: Signal Moss, Waterfall Mist.
  • Tinfoil hat (from foil sheets, 3 iron nuggets → 2 sheets) and the Signal Static effect it blocks; advancement "They Can't Read Me Now"; flavour lines under every Tinfoil item.
  • Conspiracy Board: pin items, connect them with red string across boards.
  • The Dossier (Patchouli guidebook, optional): nine chapters, entries unlock through Tinfoil advancements.
  • Anomalies: saucer flybys at night, crop circles at dawn (never in farms by default), compasses that spin near Bermuda stone, the Black Satellite (/tinfoil anomaly flyby|cropcircle|satellite), Signal Static near them.
  • The mountain mystery: a mural (/tinfoil mystery place), four data-driven steps with sightings, Dossier advancements and the Saucer Glider as the reward.
  • /tinfoil islands: why Ancient Islands do or don't generate in a world (config, placement, biome overlap, candidate cells). Islands now also spawn in #c:is_overworld biomes (Biomes We've Gone, Regions Unexplored).
  • Presentation tools: an in-game cinematic recorder (Catmull-Rom camera paths, fixed timestep, frames as PNG, shaders included) and tinfoil/autorun.json for unattended runs (commands, structure locate, takes, quit).
