Long ago the Visitors came down from the sky and taught people to cut stone. Megaliths, T-pillars, moai and stone spheres are their survey markers, joined by ley lines that still carry a faint green signal.
Atlantis
Their sea city sank. Its marble and its blue-black sea-stone wash up wherever the land folds.
The folds
When they left, they folded the land to hide their sites. That is why plateaus with waterfalls sit in the middle of ordinary country, and why our base stands on one.
Out-of-place artifacts
Gears older than history. Clay batteries. A crystal skull. Some of them still work.
The cover-up
A nameless agency found it all, built hangars and antenna fields on top, and labelled everything weather balloon. Their alloy, catwalks and filing cabinets are half of the palette.
